Research
Experience

2022 - present

I am involved in the validation of "Tag-Me Switch," a crucial sub-game of BrainTagger, a cognitive assessment tool developed by our lab. "Tag-Me Switch" is a gamified version of the Wisconsin Card Sorting Task, tailored to assess cognitive flexibility. My responsibilities are multifaceted, including comprehensive literature reviews, secondary research, managing participant sessions, data collection and analysis, and contributing significantly to the writing of the research paper. The objective of BrainTagger is to provide an engaging and effective medium for the aging population to monitor their cognitive health and aid in the prevention of dementia. This project represents a groundbreaking fusion of gamification with traditional cognitive testing methodologies, paving the way for more user-friendly psychological assessments.

2022 - 2023

I delved into the intricate relationship between Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and creativity. My primary responsibility was to assist in conducting a comprehensive meta-analysis, which involved exploring the impact of CAD tools on user creativity. A key aspect of my role included building and managing a database of over 3,000 research papers, where I meticulously screened and cataloged data relevant to our study.

This research experience was pivotal in sparking my interest in CAD and mechanical engineering. The insights gained from the project motivated me to self-educate in CAD design and acquire foundational knowledge in machining.

2020 - 2023

I had the opportunity to assist a PhD researcher in exploring how social stimuli influence arousal in children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). My primary responsibilities involved aiding in the screening and extraction of relevant data from a multitude of academic papers, which was crucial for the foundation of our research. Moreover, I contributed to a sub-topic within the study alongside a teammate. Our combined efforts led to the development of a unique aspect of the research, which was honored with acceptance for a poster presentation at the Canadian Psychology Association Conference 2023.
